First off I want to say that I think Tyler Stout is great, we’ve spoken many times and you couldn’t ask for a more deserving guy and I can’t wait to see what he has to offer us next. However, as great as he is I think its odd that this article seems to almost focus on him as if he is the messiah of Mondo movie posters. There was a brief mention of Moss and how he has his on minimalist style, Oh! and Dan Danger is is good for movies with “lots of mood”(WTF?!?), then the article launches itself back in to Tyler-Love-Fest talking about how Tylers Star Wars prints sold originally for $50/poster and now go for an average of like $650!!! But, no where do they mention Moss’ Star wars set that sold for $50/poster and now seems to be going for $1,500-2,000 !!!!! Now, dont get me wrong 9 times out of 10 if you put a Stout or a Moss print in front of me I’ll go with Stouts work (thats just my personal preference) but to totally dismiss the Moss Star Wars set and focus so blindly on Tylers .. It just came off as more TS worship which there is already a lot of. There is no need to continue faning the flames of the 100’s if not 1,000’s of T.S. fanboys!! 😛
So in my opinion this article although spot on in a lot of aspects and it did a decent job at pulling in different perspectives from names through out the movie poster collecting world, was still a little lopsided only focusing on a small number of artists and theaters that are now doing their own screen printed posters.
Well it looks like there is about 34 of the Horkey prints on the ‘bay already .. Not too bad considering the total print run was something like 530 or so .. To my delight they all seem to be just sitting there !!! I am hoping that some flippers will get burnt on this one!! I wasnt in the running to pickup one of these Horkeys today but I dont want to be fighting with 100’s if not 1,000’s of scumbag flippers just in it to try and make a buck!!!
I never would have guess it but all three versions of the Horkey prints for The Devils Backbone sold out !!!! 😉 Of course Im kidding even though the regular did seem to hang around for a while (in mondo time) a sell out was unavoidable … Now Im off to look on ebay to see just how many people are already trying to flip them !!!
And if the Metal Version of Robocop is too expensive for your taste .. Heres a regular edition for half the price .. LOL .. But thats still $700 !!! 🙂

Everyone Loves Robocop !! If you dont think so just check out the Statue in Detroit !! And to top it off a Metal poster designed by Tyler Stout!! These dont pop-up too often and it shows, this one on ebay right now shot up to $1,300 within an hour of the auction going live !!!

It looks like Mondo will have not one… Not two .. But THREE Horkey/Vania posters for sale tomorrow!! One regular edition of 350 prints ($60) and two variant editions of 90 prints ($90) will go on sale at a random time tomorrow!!

Just updated ADP with Roger Rabbit and a few Star Trek posters along with some new pictures for some old Rolling Road show prints (North by Northwest and Dixons Planet of the Apes) I also have just received some pictures of the Rolling Roadshow 2012 prints and will be adding those soon as well!
I am also looking forward to seeing what the Mondo has in store for us this week ! 🙂
Well it has been a while since I updated ADP so I figured it was about time to catch up with Mondos latest offerings this year! There have been about 40 or so posters released so its going to take me a couple days to get everything caught up but for not I have updated the Disney category and added the SXSW section the festivals group!!
Now one thing .. I had forgotten to record the costs of the SXSW posters so Im missing the original prices on some of them. If anyone happens to recall or have receipt they could look on and pass the info along to me I would gladly add it to the site!
